Reference vocabulary12 canonical terms

Words that keep
the field honest.

Project H uses a controlled vocabulary so leagues, events, robots, teams and claims do not collapse into one vague category.

Editorial ruleA definition states both what a term includes and where its boundary sits.

Canonical definitionsEntity model / editorial contract

Every term links back to the product surface where that distinction becomes operational.

01AUT

Autonomous control

The robot selects competitive actions without a human pilot issuing each movement during the bout.

Autonomous does not mean that training, setup or safety supervision are absent.
02CLM

Claim state

The editorial status attached to one atomic factual assertion: confirmed, contested, unverified, refuted or arbitrated.

A confidence label belongs to the claim, not automatically to the whole entity.
03CMP

Competition

A repeatable sporting format operated under an identifiable name, ruleset or organiser.

A demonstration, one-off tournament and recurring league remain distinct records.
04CTL

Control mode

The mechanism that determines who or what selects the robot’s competitive actions: autonomy, gamepad, VR, motion capture or mixed control.

Visually similar fights cannot be ranked together before control mode is known.
05DOC

Documentary media

A sourced image or film attached to the entity, event or organisation it actually documents.

League-level context is labelled when no event-specific footage is available.
06EVT

Event

One bounded programme with a date or date window, place, organiser relationship and record state.

An announced month is not silently converted into an exact day.
07HW

Hardware platform

The underlying robot model or class used by one or more named competition entries.

A platform is not the same entity as a robot, team, pilot or league.
08RES

Result

A published outcome linking an event, participants, winner and resolution method.

Highlight footage alone does not create a scorecard.
09RBT

Robot

One canonical machine identity to which aliases, hardware, team relationships and results can be attached.

Project H keeps the machine separate from its organisation and operator.
10TEM

Team

A corporate group, university lab or named entry associated with competition participation.

A team file may exist while its roster and machines remain unpublished.
11TEL

Teleoperation

A human pilot controls the robot through gamepad, VR, exoskeleton or motion-capture input.

Pilot-led performance and autonomous performance are classified separately.
12URK

URKL

Ultimate Robot Knock-out Legend, EngineAI’s autonomous full-size humanoid combat league project.

The documented gala does not validate every audience, roster or season claim.
